Make Your Career as a Pharmacist
Tuesday, February 17, 2009 7:02A pharmacist is another name for chemist who deals with medicines. They are really in great demand. You will find pharmacist in every hospital where you will go. Doctors write the medicine and it is the pharmacist who gives them to the patients. Their job comprises from dispensing to preparation of the medicines. They are the trained candidates and have very deep knowledge about medicines. Hence through their jobs the pharmacists can help the patients by telling them the detail about the medicine which they will have to eat.
Pharmacist can also provide valuable back up for those patients who are on long term medication. If the patient ever tries to check whether the medication is properly helping him then the pharmacists can really help them by pointing out whether the medication is properly under process or not. Hence the pharmacist can ease the minds of the patients and can really let them know that the medicine is having the effect on them as it should have. I must tell you that the patients are always confused and they are always in search for some suggestions. The pharmacy specialist is the best judge and really let them know whether what is the advantage of the medicine which they have been given by the doctors?
Qualification required
The only qualification required to become a pharmacist is that they should have a graduation degree in pharmacy. Some even have post graduation degree. However the graduation degree is more than sufficient. I have seen many pharmacists engaged in different hospitals. One thing which I really liked about them is that they know about each an every medicine that they come across. That’s why they are respected as all the practitioners related to medicine are. Once they have the graduation degree, they are employed in various departmental as well as drug store. However most of the pharmacist opens their own store any one will expect. They earn in four figures and some even earn in five figures.
Area of specialty for pharmacists
Once you have graduation degree in pharmacy, then you can go for further specialization courses. The fields in which you can specialize are: nuclear pharmacy, nutrition support pharmacy, oncology pharmacy, pharmacotherapy, psychiatric pharmacy and so on. You can specialize in any of the above fields.
Career satisfaction for pharmacists
In addition to securing a good salary the pharmacist’s job also provides you the respect in the society. I must add that the pharmacists are the next most respectable personality after the doctors. Hence you will realize that as pharmacists you not only earn money but also the respect which is seldom experienced in the market.
I really appreciate the job which the pharmacists are doing and you will also join the list if you choose this as your career.
